Those abandoned, idled or under-used industrial and commercial facilities where expansion is complicated by real or perceived environmental contamination can be converted into economic assets. Technology and Economic Development works with communities wishing to develop these properties and investigate problems generally associated with these potential assets and recommend strategies for enhancing community involvement in restoring these properties to new industrial uses.
