TEEX Paramedic Program receives national accreditation from CAAHEP
  The TEEX Paramedic Program has been awarded full accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), a national accrediting agency for 24 health science professions. The 1,033-hour program is approved for CEUs by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), and is eligible for college credit through the American Council on Education (ACE).

Web-based simulation software extends reach of TEEX emergency management training
  The unique computer simulation training tool, designed for classes held on-site at TEEX’s Emergency Operations Training Center, is going mobile. A new web-based version of the Emergency Management*Exercise System (EM*ES) proprietary simulation software will allow TEEX to take some advanced incident command and Emergency Operations Center classes on the road.

TEEX employees work with Kappler to design a more durable hazmat suit
  TEEX needed a more durable hazmat suit for an extreme emergency response training environment, and worked with Kappler to develop a new prototype, the "TEEX" suit. The new design is more like an actual hazmat response suit and is now used for training at Brayton Fire Training Field.

Texas firefighters to benefit from new TCFP reciprocity policy
  A new reciprocity policy approved by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) will provide TCFP certification for select Pro Board certifications issued by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).

Fire and Ice: Nearly 400 students find both at Spring Fire School
  Nearly 400 members of the fire service attended the 26th Annual Spring Fire Training School on March 2-7 and experienced the weather extremes of Texas. The students took it all in stride, attending one of 20 TEEX courses offered at Brayton Fire Training Field in a variety of specializations.

New Disaster City project reflects lessons learned in TX-TF1 deployments to West and Moore
  A new search and rescue project under construction at Disaster City® will incorporate lessons learned from Texas Task Force 1 deployments in 2013 to West, TX, and Moore, OK. The project is expected to be completed in April, and will be used by search and rescue personnel and canine teams.

Phillips 66 will contribute $500,000 to Brayton Fire Training Field
  Phillips 66 (NYSE: PSX) has committed $500,000 over five years to support future expansion at the Brayton Fire Training Field. This will allow the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) to further enhance its training of first responders in the protection of critical infrastructure.
