As a founding member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), TEEX's National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC) develops and delivers training in support of the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency's (DHS-FEMA) Homeland Security National Training Program (HSNTP). The HSNTP supports the National Preparedness Directorate's (NPD) requirement to support and implement Presidential Policy Directive-8 (PPD-8), the National Preparedness Goal (NPG), the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP), the National Preparedness System, and the National Response Framework (NRF). The NPD enhances the Nation's preparedness by providing tailored, specialized training to increase the capability of states, territories and local and tribal jurisdictions to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorism, natural disasters, catastropic accidents and other hazards.
The TEEX/NERRTC courses and programs contribute significantly to national preparedness priorities and support congressional intent for the NDPC to expand its capacity and to continue to address future CBRNE/terrorism and all hazards-related training demands. In the last few years, TEEX/NERRTC has increased and enhanced its portfolio of courses, based upon the training needs of the emergency responder and other communities.
The cost for qualified participants to attend HSNTP training is paid by the federal government.
