
As one of the two new lead Instructors for the Wide Area Search course and full-time Search and Rescue responder, Russ joined the TEEX US&R Division in March 2009.
Russ has a 23-year background in military law enforcement, where he specialized in counter terrorism, high-risk search and executive protection. As the head of Counter Terrorism Search and Security for the Royal Air Force (UK), he managed a Special Forces program responsible for operations all over the world, including Iraq and Afghanistan. He was also responsible for the safety of Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth and several other VIPs during their contact with the military. Russ has also led and conducted high-risk searches and large event security throughout the United Kingdom.
As a member of the TEEX US&R staff, Russ’ responsibilities include Lead Instructor and Texas Task Force One responder. Due to his experience in airborne operations, Russ is the Project Coordinator for US&R’s new Helicopter Search and Rescue Technician (Rescue Swimmer) program.
In his spare time he enjoys golf, SCUBA diving and football. He currently resides in The Woodlands, TX.
