Products and Services

The Basic Economic Development Course
The Basic Economic Development Course is fully accredited by the International Economic Development Council and fulfills the experience requirement for admission to the Economic Development Institute. BEDC Participant Information Form.

Economic Development for Local Leaders Course
Elected officials and community advocates are often required to participate in economic development planning and decision-making without necessarily having the experience or expertise to make informed decisions. The Economic Development for Local Leaders Course addresses these concerns.

By condensing the essentials of the Basic Economic Development Course curriculum and bringing it to your location, your community participants will be better informed and prepared to participate in the planning process - without the cost of leaving your commmunity.

Strategic Planning
The Strategic Planning process provides your economic development leaders and stakeholders with an opportunity for in-depth assessment and discussion of your community's future. Through the planning process, TEEX will present the initial findings of your Community Assessment and provide insights into opportunities related to statewide initiatives, economic development trends and industrial growth specific to your region.

Working closely with local leaders and economic developers, TEEX will facilitate strategic planning workshops and document your community's Strategic Plan. Based on insights from the workshops and secondary research, TEEX will craft a Strategic Plan with the vision statements, goals, strategies and action plan to set your community on the path to prosperity.

Rural Jump Start
Rural Jump Start is designed to start your rural community's economic engine and drive your future prosperity. Rural economic development specialists from the Texas Engineering Extension Service bring Rural Jump Start directly to your community - providing training, strategic planning and promotion/fundraising assistance. Why wait? Jump start your rural community's economy and start down the road to sustainable economic development.

The Rural Jump Start program includes the Economic Development for Local Leaders Course and Strategic Planning Services in addition to community promotion. For this latter element, TEEX economic development specialists coach your team on how to promote your community's economic development plan, from developing a powerful presentation to connecting you with potential sources of funding. TEEX serves as your advocate and even sets up meetings for you with agencies that fund rural economic development projects.

Successful Grant-Writing Strategies
Developing a competitive grant application is time-consuming and costly, so it's vital to define an effective strategy to increase your success rate and realize the greatest possible return on your investment. Through this course, you will learn how to effectively communicate your funding needs and bring more grant funds into your community.
