You can earn qualification through the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service’s course – Work Zone Traffic Control (HWS001). Work zones are dangerous work places, and can become deadly if traffic control is not set up properly. Preparedness - particularly training - is the key to minizing work zone collisions and improving traffic safety. This course provides important training in the basics of traffic control. Participants will learn the importance of complying with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and application to local roads and streets as well as Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) roadways.
City and county personnel directly involved in developing and/or implementing work zone traffic control.
City and county work crews involved in construction or maintenance on or near roads or streets.
