Students must "Successfully" complete the 88+ hour Inspector I and II: Sessions 1 & 2 and the 40 hour Plan Examiner to be eligible to take the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Certification Examiner Inspector.
All students are REQUIRED to bring to class the 7th Edition of IFSTA, Fire Inspection and Code Enforcement manual and the 1st Edition of the Plans Examiner for Fire & Emergency Services manual, a copy of local fire and building codes, and any fire inspection policies and procedures.
NOTICE: A late fee of $50.00 will be assessed to payments made after thee registration deadline for the Annual Municipal School class.
This course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required for certification to Plans Examiner I as described in chapter 7, “Plan Examiner I” of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1031, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Inspector and Plan Examiner (2009 edition). Participants who successfully complete the course and pass the required certification and skills test will receive a National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (ProBoard) national certification. Also can be used for TCFP certification.

This course is targeted for personnel in Department of Defense (DoD), Municipal, and Volunteer Fire Departments, building inspectors, general contractors, or other disciplines who desire to become a certified Plans Examiner I.
Class Hours:
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
PPE Level: 1

Students should bring the same type of clothing as worn on normal duty, including bunker gear which is NFPA 1971 compliant.
