Course Description

HWS112 - Installation and Maintenance of Signs - 12.00 Hours

Prerequisites

None.

Description

NOTE: This NO-COST, TxDOT-contracted course is ONLY for Texas city/county personnel.

Studies indicate that a large proportion of traffic signs need some form of maintenance. These deficiencies can have serious impacts and can result in a reduction of safety for drivers and in an increased liability exposure for public agencies. The Federal Highway Administration reported to Congress that traffic sign improvements have the highest benefit-to-cost-ratio of any highway safety improvement. This course is designed to help state and local agencies improve safety and practices of sign installation and maintenance.
