This course exposes participants to the fundamentals of professional practice, hydrology, soil formation, soil-water and groundwater chemistry and microbiology, environmental contaminants and remedial technologies as they relate to the remediation of the soil and groundwater at a site. Participants will gain “hands-on” experience through the analysis, evaluation and remediation of hypothetical sites, including the impact of human-errors and interpretations in the evaluation process.
The course is designed to present the theory of the commonly applied methods for soil and groundwater remediation in a variety of geologic settings while emphasizing the practical problem-solving techniques they are expected to perform in a real remediation investigation. This course will give the student the confidence and ability to conduct, interpret, and analyze soil and groundwater data and to select suitable remediation procedures and techniques.
Participation in this course will refine the student’s knowledge of the analytical skills necessary to interpret the environmental data needed to design an appropriate remediation scheme. TEEX is authorized by IACET to offer 2.4 CEUs for this program.
