Course Description


HWS001 - Work Zone Traffic Control (TxDOT Safety Contract) - 16.00 Hours

Prerequisites

None.

Description

NOTE: This no-cost, TxDOT-contracted course is ONLY for Texas city/county personnel.
Highway contractors MUST register for the fee-based, open-enrollment version of this course - Work Zone Traffic Control (for Contractors) - (HWS002).


Work zones can become danger zones if traffic control is not set up properly. Preparedness - particularly training - is the key to preventing many work zone collisions. This course provides necessary training in the basics of work zone traffic control. You will learn the importance of complying with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and all relative TxDOT standards which apply to TxDOT roadways including the Interstate System. TEEX is authorized by IACET to offer 1.6 CEUs for this program.
