LET445 - Arrest, Search & Seizure - 16.00 Hours

Prerequisites

None
Required Materials
Participants are required to have access to the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure during class and must bring note-taking materials.
Education Credits
This 16-hour course meets TCLEOSE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education) Intermediate Core Course #2108 requirements.

Description

Participants will study legal issues pertaining to arrest, search, and seizure and become more familiar with the legal procedures necessary to perform law enforcement duties associated with linked applications.

  • Arrests with and without a warrant
  • Reasonable suspicion and probable cause
  • Warrantless search authorities (persons, buildings, vehicles)
  • Federal and state case law, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure
  • Audience

    Currently commissioned Texas peace officers.
