Course Description


LET586 - First Line Security Supervisor - 24.00 Hours

Prerequisites

Participants should be experienced security/peace officers who have completed basic training.

Description

This 24 hour course is designed for new first line supervisors. Participants will receive training in areas vital to effective leadership, including ethics, communication, leadership styles employee evaluation, counseling, critical thinking and problem solving, administrative processes and use of force concepts.

  • Making transition from line officer to supervisor
  • Security supervisors role as it relates to goals of the organization
  • Common trends in leadership, management and supervision
  • Applying work performance measures and employee evaluations
  • Values, ethics, and fundamental principles of leadership and supervision
  • Applying a systematic approach to identify and solving problems
  • Budgeting, scheduling and staffing
  • Special response issues and use of force concepts

    Audience

    This training is designed for supervisors in public or private asset protection and law enforcement responsible for day-to-day first line supervision of personnel.
