TEEX announces resignation of Robert McKee

Date: April 6, 2012

College Station, TX - The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) announced today that Robert McKee has resigned as Director of Disaster Preparedness and Response and Texas Task Force 1. TEEX is the sponsoring agency for TX TF-1. He has been with the agency since 2002.

In his letter of resignation, McKee said, “My first priority has always been serving the citizens of the State of Texas and the nation and to that end, I offer my resignation.” He continued, "I will always be proud of my association with TEEX and the task force. I’m taking this action, after lengthy consideration, so both the agency and I can move forward."

McKee was placed on leave March 12 following a complaint filed on EthicsPoint, a third-party company that manages a risk and misconduct hotline for the A&M System. The investigation remains in progress and will proceed to completion. There is currently not an estimated completion date.

Billy Parker will continue to serve as interim Director of the Disaster Preparedness and Response division and Texas Task Force 1. TEEX Chief Executive Officer Gary Sera said, “The agency will consider a full range of options for future management. We appreciate Bob’s commitment to TEEX and TX TF-1 and wish him all the best in future endeavors.”

TEEX, a member of The Texas A&M University System, offers hands-on, customized, first-responder training, homeland security exercises, technical assistance and technology transfer services impacting Texas and beyond.
