Description

ToolsThe Wood Pole Climbing Techniques course provides students with the latest Occupational Safety and Health Administration fall resistant techniques crucial to life-saving best practices currently being applied across the utility industry. During the course, participants are guided through several hands-on activities utilizing TEEX Wood Pole Training props while receiving instruction surrounding proper climbing techniques using the latest safety practices, proper equipment, and other required tools.

Prerequisite

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Requirements

  • In order to fully participate in all field exercises, participants are required to have the following equipment; climbing boots, hard hat, work gloves, safety glasses, long-sleeve shirt, climbers, body belt, safety belt, and a secondary safety for fall safe device. 
  • Participants are required to an approved fall safe device (Buck Squeeze, cinch lock, miller, etc.) that meets requirements of OSHA 1910.269 (g)(2).

Recommended

In order to participate fully in all field exercises to include climbing a 25 ft wooden utility pole, students should be in good physical health.
