Description

LinemanThe Electric Power Line Reconductoring course provides participants with training specific to the proper setup and use of power line reconductoring tools, equipment, and machines necessary to safely perform a reconductor operation on a three-phase overhead distribution system. At the completion of this course, participants will able to identify safe work procedures, apply proper grounding techniques, safely position aerial devices, layout conductors, install dollies and operate tension rigs when installing a new conductor.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

In order to fully participate in all field work exercises, students will need the following equipment; hard hat, rubber gloves and rubber sleeves (Class 2), work gloves, safety glasses, long-sleeve shirts, hand tools, and work boots.

Recommended

Participants should either be qualified to perform energized line maintenance or have operational knowledge of Hot Line 1 or 2 - Rubber Gloving procedures.
