The Single-Phase Transformers, Regulators, and Capacitors course provides participants with information and training specific to the principles, theory, design, construction, and operation of single-phase transformers, voltage regulators, and capacitors. During training, students conduct testing of connections using specialized equipment and perform hands-on problem-solving exercises during assigned scenarios. At the completion of the course, participants will be able to calculate fuse sizes and lightning arrester protection for transformers and capacitors, establish proper single-phase connections, identify proper regulator and capacitor applications, and test control settings and switching procedures while applying associated safety rules.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
In order to fully participate in all fieldwork exercises, students will need the following equipment: hard hat, rubber gloves (Class 0), safety glasses, and basic function calculator.
- Participants should have operational knowledge of Electric Power Principles.
- Participants should have a practical knowledge and understanding of electrical power utility systems and related concepts.
