There will come a time in every first responder's career when they will need to perform life saving medical intervention in the line of duty. Deaths resulting from traumatic injury can be prevented by proper treatment at the scene by oneself or a fellow first responder. This course will provide you with the knowledge and tools needed to save your life or the life of someone else until EMS arrive on the scene. As part of the training, you will receive a fully stocked, individual Self-Aid Buddy Aid (SABA) kit valued at $100. Lifesaving methods are demonstrated using the SABA kit and the methods taught will enable officers to use improvised materials if actual materials (SABA kits) are not available.
