This course covers the basic elements of a transformation from traditional to cellular manufacturing. It guides participants through the process of grouping products, establishing Takt time, reviewing the work sequence and balancing the process to design an effective cell.
Lecture materials coupled with exercises that allow participants to practice implementation. The course contains two production simulations - the first a traditional, functional factory layout. The second using a cellular design developed by the participants using information gathered in the exercises.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed.
