The course focus is on the NFPA four-step method of Preparation,
Presentation, Application, and Testing (Evaluation) and is directed toward
company officers, and/or those with responsibilities for training.
Preparation - Focuses on adults as learners,
their needs, motivation and environment. Additional focus
is placed on lesson plans and training objectives. These elements are targeted to
prepare the instructor to teach, and prepare the student to learn.
Presentation - Focuses on presentation
Methods, Aids, and Techniques. In the presentation step, each
skill or concept is carefully explained, and the student is shown how to perform
Application - Focuses on the “how” of designing and using the application step. The application step provides the
student an opportunity to try out what has been learned; in other words, it is
the hands-on part of the training.
Testing (Evaluation) - Focuses on the importance
of testing, design and administration of performance skills testing, and types
of testing. The testing/evaluation step
