This is a six- to eight-hour course designed to meet the training needs of a Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2) on an incident as outlined in the Wildland Fire Qualification System Guide (PMS) 310-1, and the Position Task Book (PTB) developed for the position.
The Wildland Fire Qualification System Guide (PMS) 310-1 provides guidance and a national wildfire standard for establishing minimum training, skills, knowledge, experience, and physical fitness requirements for the participating agencies of the National Wildfare Coordinating Group (NWCG).
There are no prerequisites for this course.
This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements.
