Incident Management and Response

In the face of unpredictable emergency situations, the National Incident Management System provides a framework to prepare and assist emergency responders in both local and state jurisdictions to better protect their communities. Aimed at personnel serving in a management or supervisory capacity, incident management and response courses address the intermediate and advanced levels of training needed within the emergency management community. These courses facilitate the implementation of the all-hazards, multi-disciplinary, team-based approach outlined in the National Response Framework, which is designed to respond to large-scale or expanding incidents, including those involving hazardous materials or terrorism. The wide selection of courses offer training specialized to a variety of locations and scenarios, including crowd management and evacuation for sports and special events venues and higher education institutions. Courses also are available for instructors preparing to teach the Incident Command System curriculum.
