ACEF logoTEEX's Knowledge Engineering Center is developing the website for the American Clearinghouse on Educational Facilities, as part of a Department of Education grant awarded to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX.

The website is a central component of the project, with the goal of assisting the educational community in the planning, design, financing, construction, improvement, operations and maintenance of educational facilities.

Billions of dollars are spent on constructing, renovating and maintaining educational facilities, and the clearinghouse will provide information, training and technical assistance so those dollars can be spent wisely, said Dr. Mark Littleton, project director and professor of educational leadership and policy studies at Tarleton State University.

Project manager Denae Dorris and other members of the team will work with educational institutions to ensure that facilities are designed efficiently and resourcefully, contributing to overall student engagement and success.

"This is the Knowledge Engineering Center's first project with Tarleton State and we are looking forward to the impact this website will have on the facilities community," said Aimee Smith, Business Development Coordinator with Knowledge Engineering. "We hope this project will lead to more opportunities to work with our fellow A&M System members." Both Texas Engineering Extension Service and Tarleton State University are members of The Texas A&M University System.

She said the initial program website was deployed on Dec. 29, with a more full-featured site planned for release this Spring. The website development team is being led by Allen Biehle, with graphics support from Aaron Jones of Knowledge Engineering.
