COLLEGE STATION - The industry-recognized TEEX Certified Safety & Health Official™ (CSHO) Degree and Certificate Program has added three new specialty tracks for safety personnel in electric power, wind generation and industrial emergency response. To earn the CSHO certificate, safety professionals from the private or public sector must complete 225 hours or more of required safety courses and electives in their specialty.
With the addition of the three new tracks, safety personnel can now earn the CSHO certificate in one of 16 specialties. They may then apply the certificate toward 18 hours of college credit toward an online Associate of Applied Science Degree in Occupational Safety through San Juan College and a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences Degree at Texas A&M University – Commerce.
The fully accredited TEEX CSHO degree programs are now recognized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) toward the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and Certified Safety professional (CSP) educational requirements. The CSHO certificate also qualifies as one year of experience toward the Board of Certified Safety Professionals’ Occupational Health and Safety Technologist? (OHST) certification.
