Nine earn US&R Rescue Specialist certificate from TEEX

COLLEGE STATION - Nine responders have received the US&R Rescue Specialist certificate from the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) in 2015, bringing the total who have earned the professional designation to 74.

Henrik Paulsen of Denmark, who earned the certificate on May 22, is the first from his country to be awarded the US&R Specialist certificate. Other international responders who have received the certificate include three from Canada and three from the United Kingdom.

Others who have earned the certificate in 2015 include John C. Chaney, Charles Anderson Chapman, Lance Cockrell, Michael David Gott, Greg J. Grimes, Kelly L. Gunderson, Michael Kelly Murphy, and Charles J. O’Connor.

The program, which TEEX launched in 2013, requires more than 300 hours of rigorous, advanced training in structural collapse, rescue operations and other specialized search and rescue training.
