Members of the Texas Engineering Extension Service’s (TEEX) Public Safety and Security division recently returned from training a group of 15 Panama Canal security supervisors.

Project Coordinator David Aguirre and Program Manager Cullen Grissom spent a week in Panama delivering TEEX’s First-Line Security Supervisor and Team Building for Supervisors courses.

The two classes focused on preparing new security supervisors with training vital to effective leadership, including ethics, effective communication, counseling, planning, organizing and critical thinking.

It was the second trip to Panama for Public Safety and Security personnel, who previously trained the Canal Authority’s firearms instructors.

Martin Torrijos, President of Panama, and Panama Canal Administrator Alberto Aleman Zubieta are both graduates of Texas A&M University. TEEX is a member of The Texas A&M University System.
