John Skrabanek was named associate director and chief financial officer of the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) today by The Texas A&M University System’s Board of Regents. He has served those roles in an interim capacity since May 1, 2007.
Skrabanek, 58, joined TEEX as an accountant in 1976 and has served several roles for the agency, including fiscal officer and controller, prior to his current position. With more than 31 years of service to TEEX, he is the agency’s longest-serving employee.
Skrabanek is responsible for the overall administration of the agency’s Financial Services staff and works with TEEX division directors and administration on all budgeting and financial matters. He also supervises the Office of Grants and Contract Services and represents the agency during audits.
Skrabanek monitors all financial reports to ensure TEEX remains fiscally sound.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas A&M University in 1972, Skrabanek was hired by the university to be a staff accountant. He received his master’s degree in educational administration from A&M in 1994.
The Texas Engineering Extension Service , a member of The Texas A&M University System, offers hands-on, customized first-responder training, homeland security exercises, technical assistance and technology transfer services impacting Texas and beyond.
