  • TEEX to deliver cross-border truck driver training

TEEX and Capacitacion y Servicios Profesionales (CASEPRO), of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Republic of Mexico, are partnering to offer a training program beneficial to commercial truck drivers in both the United States and Mexico.

Through this collaboration, instructors from TEEX and CASEPRO will train commercial truck drivers from both countries on the specific driving laws and regulations that pertain to each country.

“NAFTA allows truck drivers to carry freight across the border, but the regulations and requirements for commercial trucking in Mexico are the not the same as those in the U.S.,” says Jack Pettyjohn, TEEX business development manager.

“Through this training, truck drivers from Mexico and the U.S. will become familiar with the rules and requirements of the road in each country, which will not only enhance driver safety, but efficiency, as well.”

The initial training course will be offered in January 2003.
