COLLEGE STATION — The Texas Municipal Fire Training School will host public demonstrations at the Brayton Fire Training Field off Nuclear Science Road this Wednesday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. The demonstrations will showcase firefighters’ skills in battling towering blazes generated at the Brayton Fire Training Field, recognized as the world’s largest live-fueled fire training facility.
This year’s Municipal School, which is conducted by the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) and sponsored by the State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals’ Association, is the largest since 1992, with 2,425 firefighters from 11 states and some 500 guest instructors in attendance.
Parking for the public demonstrations will be available along Nuclear Science Road, which intersects the west end of George Bush Drive off FM2818 (Harvey Mitchell Pkwy).
