  • Esquire strikes poses at disaster city

It has been the training ground for search and rescue workers, canines, and even robots. Now it is the site of a high-fashion British photo shoot.

The London based Esquire UK magazine chose Disaster City as the perfect spot to shoot their spring 2008 layout — featuring models cheating death by train derailment, building collapse, and even natural disasters.

The models struck a pose in some of next seasons hottest fashions.

“It’s the new Spring/Summer 2008 collections from some of our big advertisers at Esquire magazine–Dolce & Gabbana, Georgio Armani, Valentino, so it’s all of the big designers,” Catherine Hayward Fashion Director for the magazine said.

Hayward says some of the fashion looks for next season include some new tailoring and clean cut looks for businessmen.

She first heard of Disaster City through one of the photographers she works with.

“I shot here for another magazine about eight or nine months ago, and when I shot here I thought this would be an amazing place for fashion stories,” Photographer Phillip Toledano said.
