SHERMAN, Tex. — Elected officials from Cooke, Grayson, and Fannin Counties are in Sherman on Tuesday learning about emergency management.
It’s all part of a Senior Official’s Workshop put on by the Texas Engineering Extension Service. Officials learned everything in the field of emergency management, specifically how cities and emergency agencies can communicate better with one another.
Those who attended the seminar at the Texoma Council of Governments are excited to get to work with another in case of another major emergency like this summer’s floods.
“Putting the plan you have into action could be a very challenging event. Those are things that we’re going to concentrate on, and coordination efforts and getting people to understand what that plan is,” Grayson County Judge Drue Bynum said.
The workshop is one of several meeting scheduled for emergency management training.
