  • 77th Annual Municipal Fire School attracts nearly 3,000

Firefighters from throughout Texas and the United States are in College Station this week for the 77th Annual Municipal Fire Training School, which is recognized as the largest event of its kind.

This year’s Municipal School has nearly 2,300 registered emergency responders from the state’s smallest volunteer fire departments to those serving the largest metropolitan areas, in addition to more than 500 guest instructors. Courses range from basic and advanced firefighting to rescue operations and fire officer development.

The weeklong Municipal School at the Brayton Fire Training Field is hosted by the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), a member of The Texas A&M University System, in conjunction with the State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas.
