The Wood Pole Climbing Techniques course provides students with the latest Occupational Safety and Health Administration fall resistant techniques crucial to life-saving best practices currently being applied across the utility industry. During the course, participants are guided through several hands-on activities utilizing TEEX Wood Pole Training props while receiving instruction surrounding proper climbing techniques using the latest safety practices, proper equipment, and other required tools.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
Participants will be required to climb and descend a wood utility pole. In order to successfully complete these exercises, participants must be aware of any medical and/or physical limitations that might prevent them from participating in such activities.
Student Must Provide
- Climbing boots
- Hard hat
- Work gloves
- Safety glasses
- Body belt
- Safety belt
- Long-sleeved shirts
- Secondary safety for fall safe device (meets OSHA 1910.269 (g)(2) standard)
To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.
