Course Description

PlantThe Electrical Transmission and Distribution (ET&D) course provides participants with crucial life-saving information designed to increase awareness of contributing factors associated with injuries among electric utility personnel and suggestions surrounding best practices designed to reduce those hazards. The course focuses on industry professionals on both electrical safety principles and hazard recognition. Included in the course are OSHA rules applicable to ET&D (1910.269 and 1926 Subpart V). Participants successfully completing this course will receive their OSHA 10-hour card with an ET&D endorsement.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

Participant Must Provide

  • a photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.

Attendance Requirements

Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed

Prior Training Courses or Knowledge

It is recommended, but not required, participants complete the Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSH510) or Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (OSH511) course.
