Course Description

backhoe arm and bucket up closeThis 16-hour course provides entry-level operators with instruction on the proper operation of a backhoe and/or loader. Traditional classroom training provides participants with safe work practices, an understanding of machine mechanical systems, and operational techniques. Hands-on exercises utilizing the TEEX Heavy Equipment Field provide students with operational skills development designed to ensure proper use of the equipment.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

To meet attendance requirements,
participants must review each training module and complete all required course
assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.

Suggested Audience

This course is designed for personnel just beginning their career as a backhoe-loader operator, or the participant with limited experience. This course is also recommended for use as a refresher for more experienced operators.

  • Visibility safety vest
