Course Description

The Lean Overview Fundamentals course provides an explanation of Lean concepts and shows typical applications where these tools are used in the manufacturing environment. This is strictly a lecture driven training event.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Attendance Requirements

To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.

Topics

  • Introduction to Lean Manufacturing
  • Discussion on Standardized Work, 5-S System, Visual Controls, and Plant Layout
  • Discussion on Teams, Quick Changeover, Batch Reduction, Point-of-Use Storage, and Quality at the Source
  • Pull/Kanban, Cellular Flow, and TPM
  • Implementation

Manufacturing managers, supervisors, and workers.

This is the second course I traveled from California to take at this institution. I don’t see the same quality of education or facilities or instructors in home state. Please keep up the good work, as it is very much needed.
