Course Description

The Disaster Recovery for Senior Officials course provides an overview of disaster recovery and will provide senior leaders and executives with the information that will assist communities and businesses to prepare for and recover from disasters. The course will provide an overview of the key topics to understand recovery and be prepared for the next disaster.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

Participant Must Provide

  • a photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.

Attendance Requirements

To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam. Participants will need to bring a device such as a smart phone, tablet or laptop to take the pre-test, evaluation and post-test online in the class.

Prior Training Courses or Knowledge

It is recommended, but not required, participants complete the Disaster Recovery Awareness (DMP370) course.

Suggested Audience

This course is designed for management-level personnel, senior officials, and community leaders who may be called upon to make critical recovery decisions prior to and/or during a disaster. Attendees may include elected officials at the municipal, county, regional, and/or state levels of government, directors of local response agencies, department Heads/Chiefs representing emergency management, fire, law enforcement, EMS, HazMat, public works, water utilities, public health, health care, governmental administrative disciplines/services, PIOs, CEOs/representatives from public and private health care facilities, college and university representatives, school district superintendents/representatives, airport and port facility managers, stadium and sports facility managers and directors of security, and directors of NGOs along with other private-sector organizations.
