Course Description

LinemanThe Electric Power Line Reconductoring course provides participants with training specific to the proper setup and use of power line reconductoring tools, equipment, and machines necessary to safely perform a reconductor operation on a three-phase overhead distribution system. At the completion of this course, participants will able to identify safe work procedures, apply proper grounding techniques, safely position aerial devices, layout conductors, install dollies and operate tension rigs when installing a new conductor.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

  • Rubber gloves
  • Rubber sleeves (Class 2)
  • Work gloves
  • Safety glasses
  • Long-sleeved shirt
  • Hand tools
  • Work boots

To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.

Recommended

Prior Training Courses or Knowledge

It is recommended, but not required, participants be qualified to perform energized maintenance or have completed the Electric Power Hotline Training – Single Phase Systems (EPP039) and Electric Power Hot Line Training – Three Phase Systems (EPP038) courses.
