Course Description

cable splicingThe Cable Splicing course provides participants with training surrounding the series of operational requirements necessary to join sections of copper cable using three general steps; determining sections to be connected, splicing those connections, and properly bonding, grounding, and sealing the connections to prevent corruption or moisture interruptions. During training, participants are guided through the splicing process and provided hands-on opportunities specific to the overall process of identifying cable pairs by color code and number.

  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses
  • Work boots

Attendance Requirements

To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.

Suggested Audience

This course is designed for industry personnel who splice copper telephone cable or desires knowledge of related industry skill sets.
