  • National Underground Training School held

Forty-eight students attended the National Underground Training School (NUTS), which was held June 2-5 at the Riverside Campus in Bryan.

Participants came from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico and California to attend the school, which is held each year for those who operate and maintain electric power systems. Guest instructors from co-ops, municipals, contractors, manufacturers and suppliers were also present.

NUTS has been held for more than 20 years by the TEEX Electric Power Training and Safety Employee Development Program, part of the Engineering, Utilities and Public Works Training Institute, and offers courses in underground electrical systems, installation and troubleshooting.

An electric power tool and equipment show was held in conjunction with the school.
