  • Public invited to open house at Brayton Fire Training Field

More than 2,600 firefighters from the state of Texas and all across the
country are enrolled in the 74th Municipal Annual School at the Brayton
Fire Training Field this week. On Wednesday (July 23), the public is
invited to come out and see the unique outdoor classroom these dedicated
professionals use.

Texas Engineering Extension Service personnel and
guest instructors will demonstrate the latest firefighting techniques on
several of its biggest training props.

At 8 p.m., firefighters will
demonstrate firefighting techniques used on five different training
props: Pump Alley, Loading Terminal, Tank and Dike, Chemical Complex and
the LPG Pull-a-Way.

Parking is available along Nuclear Science Road, and
visitors should enter on foot through the Main Gate (Gate C) of the
Brayton Fire Training Field. Children are welcome and admission is free.

This is the second course I traveled from California to take at this institution. I don’t see the same quality of education or facilities or instructors in home state. Please keep up the good work, as it is very much needed.
