The Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC), part of the TEEX Technology and Economic Development Division, recently received a grant renewal of $5.77 million from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The total annual TMAC budget for all seven partner institutions is $17.3 million.
TMAC is part of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership, a national network of centers that provide technical and business services to America’s manufacturers. TEEX is one of seven partner institutions that deliver TMAC services throughout the state. Since its inception in 1995, TMAC has worked with approximately 2,750 different Texas manufacturing firms.
The remaining funding for the TEEX branch of TMAC comes from customer fees, cash cost share contributed by the seven partner institutions and in-kind contributions from the partners and other TMAC allied organizations.
