Dr. Ben Cranor, program manager with TEEX-OSHA Training Institute, was honored as the 2003 Instructor of the Year by the U.S. Army Safety Center.

Cranor, who has coordinated the U.S. Army Safety Internship Program at Fort Rucker, Ala., for the past six years, was recognized for outstanding teaching of leadership classes for the safety interns. The award was presented by Jim Gibson, functional chief for U.S. Army Safety at the Pentagon.

The Army Safety Internship Program requires civilian safety program managers, who are responsible for health and safety at U.S. Army facilities and on the battlefield, to complete 660 hours of classroom training plus online courses and a practicum.
