  • Scotland collapse response featured Texas reunion

Urban search and rescue specialists from the United Kingdom who responded to the May 11 Stockline Plastics explosion in Glasgow, Scotland, relied on their Texas training in the rescue of nine survivors from the four-story building collapse.

Five teams from throughout England were dispatched to the scene, representing the first mobilization of the United Kingdom’s urban search and rescue program, and all were trained by TEEX at Disaster City in College Station.

Several Scottish media outlets captured images of responders wearing Texas Task Force 1 T-shirts while working on the rubble pile.

The iPads and electronic course materials is a great addition and shows that TEEX is being progressive.
