  • TEEX set to hold first Texas Fire Officer Symposium in College Station

TEEX is sponsoring its first symposium for Texas fire department officers Feb. 21-24 in College Station. The Texas Fire Officer Symposium is for officers from paid, volunteer or combination fire departments and is sponsored by TEEX’s Emergency Services Training Institute.

Tuition for the program is paid through funds from the Texas Legislature as part of TEEX’s mission to serve Texas fire service personnel.

Chief Alan Brunacini from the Phoenix Fire Department and other national fire service leaders will provide the latest information on management, leadership, firefighter safety, the new National Incident Management System and other timely topics. Other speakers include Chief Dennis Rubin of the Atlanta Fire Department and Chief John Buckman, past president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs.

Sessions meet the continuing education requirements for both the Texas Commission of Fire Protection and State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals’ Association.

This course was exceedingly above what I expected. One of the absolute best courses I have taken.
