ESTI's WMD-EMS team has completed its third pilot course of the Integrated Health & Medical WMD Training Program. This new program is funded through a grant from the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) and is conducted at the USPHS Noble Training Center in Anniston, Alabama. The training is conducted through the auspices of the Office for State and Local Domestic Preparedness (OSLDPS), Office of Justice Programs. The training is a combined effort of three of the members of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium: the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (Texas A&M), LSU, and the Center for Domestic Preparedness.
The Noble Training Center was once the installation hospital for the U.S. Army's Fort McClellan, the former home of the Army's chemical and military police schools. The hospital was acquired by the USPHS for the purpose of training and exercising the Nation's pre-hospital providers to respond to the use of weapons of mass destruction.
