San Antonio, Mesquite programs have new names

TEEX programs in San Antonio and Mesquite have changed their names to reflect changes in program scope and markets. Programs in San Antonio, located at the HemisFair Plaza and on South Presa, are now one entity, known as Applied Technology (AT).

This new division has evolved from the South Central Texas Regional Training Center and the Career Advancement and Applied Technology Training Division. Beth Eby will continue to lead TEEX’s San Antonio operations, which also include the Frank M. Tejeda Center for Excellence in Environmental Operations.

The training operations in Mesquite are now known as Professional & Regulatory Training (PRT). The division encompasses the former North Texas Regional Training Center and OSHA Southwest Education Center. Teresea Madden-Thompson will continue to direct the agency’s operations in Mesquite.

“One of the key reasons for TEEX’s continued success throughout the years has been the agency’s ability to evolve in order to meet the needs of our customers and the state of Texas,” said TEEX Director Robert L. Smith. “The renaming of these operations in San Antonio and Mesquite better define the agency’s mission for not only these two communities, but also for all of Texas and beyond.”
