The fire extinguisher refill facility at the Brayton Fire Training Field is nearing completion. The $750,000 renovation is part of a TEEX-wide, $26.6 million capital improvement program.

TEEX began installing office furniture and equipment, such as work tables, storage racks and a roller conveyor, in the building in December, according to John Coppernoll, program manager for facilities maintenance and construction at the Emergency Services Training Institute. He said the facility, which will consolidate all of the refill operations at the Fire Field, should be functional by Feb. 1.

TEEX fills more than 12,000 fire extinguishers each year as part of its training activities. The fire extinguisher refill facility is being remodeled to keep pace with technology and the growth in training demands at the Fire Field.
