Make-up artists create realism for WMD-EMS training video

When TEEX Communications and Marketing Services shot a training video recently of "victims" who were injured and trapped in a collapsed building or exposed to nerve agents, they were assisted by one of the premiere special effects makeup artists in the area. To make the training video as realistic as possible, Kathy Fraser and Steve Presnal called on Hawgfly Productions, Inc.

Meredith Johns and her assistant, Doug Field, traveled from the Austin area to assist with the training video for the WMD-EMS program of TEEX's Emergency Services Training Institute. Johns' credits include makeup for a number of films, including recent releases "Exit Speed," "Grindhouse" and "A Mighty Heart."

"Working with the TEEX team was a very rewarding experience," Johns said. "It is nice to know that special effects makeup can be used, not only as a tool for the film industry, but also as a training tool to help save lives." Pictures from the video shoot can be viewed at .
