This course meets or exceeds the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 472 Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents Chapter 6.6, “Mission-Specific Competencies: Product Control,” for operations-level personnel.
You will engage in practical, hands-on defensive product control action options that include diking, retention, absorption, diversion, and vapor suppression.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
Completion of training for all competencies of NFPA 472 Chapter 5, “Core Competencies for Operations Level Responders, and Chapter 6.2, “Mission-Specific Competencies: Personal Protective Equipment.”
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
This course requires PPE Level 2 as described in the TEEX Student Safety Manual. All students are required to follow this manual at all times.
You must wear regular work attire, including safety shoes, for training activities and classroom sessions. You may not wear shorts, sleeveless shirts, or open-toed shoes to any class or field activity.
Due to the strenuous nature of class activities, participants should secure a professional evaluation of their physical condition prior to enrolling in this course.
