This three-day workshop integrates two distinct Lean business tools into a cohesive methodology for the execution of a Lean initiative. The workshop content includes an introduction to the Toyota Kata which will provide participants with an understanding of why this method for improvement supersedes all others.
The introduction to Toyota Kata training will present the principles of Kata including the Improvement Kata and the Coaching Kata. The second part of the Introduction to Toyota Kata training will consist of small groups using the improvement kata on an in-house process. The Introduction to Toyota Kata Training starts with a one day, eight hour training course, continuous with the on-site practice, and culminates with a roll-out plan.
The workshop also includes an introduction to Training Within Industry Job Instruction (TWI – JI) which will provide a method for standardizing improvements. Together, the Introduction to Toyota Kata and the introduction to TWI – JI workshop will provide attendees with a comprehensive means for making organizational improvements which includes a proven method for preserving the improvements.

Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed.
